Mount Takasaki

Takasaki-yama is just a 10-min bus ride from Beppu, so we went there to watch the more than 1500 wild Japanese monkeys:


There are a lot of Dos and Don'ts about the monkeys



But in general they were well behaved:

  1. You can't enlarge these pictures! So unfortunately, I can't recognize what I ought to do if I ever meet a Japanese monkey... :-(

  2. I'm so sorry but I really haven't got a clue why you can enlarge some of the pics but not others. But let me know if you ever need the 'monkey-manual' and I'll send it to you :)
    But since they really are very kind monkeys -and I doubt you will torture them- you will probably not experience any problems.

  4. Apparently this is a server sided error. Workaround: Copy the link of the picture and replace "s320" with "s1600". This should work with quite a few pictures...
